PWHL Ottawa added three members to their coaching staff to join head coach Carla MacLeod in guiding the professional women's hockey team this season.

Ottawa announced they've hired Haley Irwin and Cassea Schols as assistant coaches, and Pierre Groulx as the teams goaltending coach.

"We are excited about the two incredible assistant coaches that have joined our organization," general manager Michael Hirshfeld told The Hockey News.

"Haley and Cassea’s success at the highest levels of women’s hockey is impressive and their experience will be incredibly valuable for our players as we build a championship team here in Ottawa."

Irwin, 35, is a two time Olympic gold medalist with Canada, and also owns five World Championship medals including a gold. She is a former teammate of MacLeod's with Canada. Irwin has spent the past four seasons as an assistant coach at Toronto Metropolitan University in USports.

Schols, 34, spent four seasons playing NCAA hockey at Mercyhurst and was serving as the head coach at Okanagan Hockey Academy, a role she's been in the past two seasons until the time of her hiring. Schols worked with MacLeod as Czechia's video coach.

Pierre Groulx has worked as a video coach, goaltending coach, and scout for the NHL's Florida Panthers, Montreal Canadiens, and most recently the Ottawa Senators.

"Pierre Groulx is an accomplished goalie coach having worked in the NHL with some of the best male goalies in the world including Carey Price and Roberto Luongo," said Hirshfeld. "He is an incredible addition to our staff."
