ION, the national sports network of Scripps Sports will broadcast the PWHL's first-ever game on national linear television in the United States. The game will take place on March 28 at 1pm between the New York Sirens and Montreal Victoire.
"Through ION – which is available free over-the-air, via pay TV, connected TV and free, ad-supported streaming platforms – the game will be accessible to more than 126 million U.S. households, representing a landmark moment in the league’s development and a significant opportunity for new fans to discover the league," the PWHL said in their media release.
ION has been the first broadcast for other moments in women's sport including moving the NWHL Championship game to primetime for the first time ever in 2022, launching an early-season women's college basketball event in 2023, and elevating the purse for the 2024 U.S. Women's Open to the highest ever for the women's golf.
The game is being made possible through a sponsorship from Ally.
