PWHL To Play 3-on-3 Showcase During NHL All-Star Festivities

The PWHL will participate in NHL All-Star Thursday playing a 3-on-3 Showcase sponsored by Canadian Tire.

The PWHL will use the NHL rules with some small adaptations, and pull officials from the AHL for year one.

According to a press release from the National Hockey League, the PWHL will participate in the NHL All-Star weekend with a 3-on-3 Showcase

The PWHL event will take place in Toronto at Scotiabank Arena on Thursday, February 1.

“Capping off NHL All-Star Thursday will be the Canadian Tire PWHL 3-on-3 Showcase, featuring elite players from the Professional Women’s Hockey League, the top professional league in women’s hockey, in a 3-on-3 game showdown in front of the crowd at Scotiabank Arena,” the NHL's press release read.

“We can’t wait to showcase our new league and our incredible athletes on NHL All-Star Thursday,” said Jayna Hefford, PWHL Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations. “We’re delighted to be collaborating with the NHL, and we appreciate the opportunity to grow the game through the All-Star platform.

“Over the years, the inclusion of women’s hockey in NHL events has created some very special experiences for players and fans,” Hefford said, “and we’re certain NHL All-Star Thursday will provide even more memorable moments.”

The NHL All-Star game festivities are scheduled to take place from February 1 to February 3.

Also on the Thursday featuring the PWHL 3-on-3 Showcase will be the Tim Hortons NHL All-Star Player Draft, the NHL Alumni Man of the Year, Honouring the 1967 Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Canadian Tire PWHL 3-on-3 Showcase.

The Thursday events will be televised in Canada on Sportsnet, and in the USA on ESPN+.
