Early in the second period of Canada's 4-1 win over Finland , Natalie Spooner carried the puck around the net before finding Emma Maltais who was driving to the Finnish net where she scored in tight.
It was clear evidence of the value of bringing PWHL chemistry to the international stage.
"I'm really comfortable with both of them, they're two of my good friends in Toronto and here," said Emma Maltais following Canada's win. "I find it really easy to read off of them."
She was speaking of her Team Canada line of Natalie Spooner, Maltais, and Sarah Nurse.
Maltais also spent time on the penalty kill with PWHL Toronto captain Blayre Turnbull.
Team Canada also features Toronto blueliners Renata Fast and Jocelyne Larocque, and Canada's third netminder Kristen Campbell.
"Any tie you can get chmistry and build on it from your club team or your pro team you're going to benefit from it at this event," said Toronto and Team Canada head coach Troy Ryan.
