PWHL Toronto and Boston kicked off the preseason camp in Utica, which is also seeing a variety of rule adaptations.

The PWHL kicked off their preseason training camp in Utica, New York on Monday. Toronto and Boston dropped the puck for the first ever game between two PWHL teams, with Blayre Turnbull scoring the historic trivia question as the first goal in PWHL history.
Here's what else is happening at the PWHL's training camp.
Over the week, the PWHL will test a variety of rule adaptations including how penalties are served. On Monday the league chose to test all two-minute minor penalties being served in full rather a goal is scored or not. Tuesday's games will return to 'tradition' rules. Thursday, the league will also test the idea of no icing's being allowed by teams playing shorthanded. If the team ices the puck a face-off will return to their defensive zone and no line change will be permitted. Also, the PWHL has aligned teams so that they will have the "long change" for the first and third periods, instead of the traditional system where this change occurs on in the second period. According to a league press release "All rule adaptations will be reviewed by the league and any determination regarding implementation will be made ahead of the season."
