Marie-Philip Poulin appeared on TVA's Salut Bonjour discussing her post knee surgery recovery.

Marie-Philip Poulin appeared on TVA's Salut Bonjour and provided an update on her post-surgery recovery.

Poulin was injured during the 2026 Olympics and did manage to return to the Montreal Victoire in time for their Walter Cup winning playoff run, where Poulin was named the Ilona Kloss Playoff MVP.

Poulin's surgery was to repair a torn ACL and meniscus. She was on crutches for the first six weeks of her recovery, and has return to walking.

On Salut Bonjour, Poulin said she hopes to return this season, but only if 100% ready. It means her return to play will remain up in the air without a specific target in mind following the 9-12 month recovery period.

“There’s no date circled on the calendar right now," Poulin said in a translation of her comments. "The timeline is roughly nine to 12 months when you’re talking about a ligament and meniscus. We’ll see how rehab goes. It’s easy to look ahead, but I’m trying to stay in the present and see how things progress.”

Poulin also discussed her offseason including Walter Cup celebrations, which for the Beauceville, Quebec product involved eating poutine from the Cup. Poulin and Montreal Victoire teammate and wife Laura Stacey also took a safari trip to Africa.

Poulin is one of the most decorated players in women's hockey history, and is a first ballot Hockey Hall of Famer. Poulin, who is not only captain of Victoire but also Team Canada, will miss representing her nation this November when Canada travels to the 2026 World Championships in Denmark.

It will mark the first time since 2009 that Team Canada steps on the ice for a major international competition without Poulin.
