The Ottawa Charge goaltender will return to the net and represent her country in the upcoming Women's Euro Hockey Tour
Sanni Ahola is set to represent her country once again, as she was officially named to Team Finland for the upcoming Women's Euro Hockey Tour, which will open on August 19 in Kloten.
Ahola has represented Finland at every level, including most recently at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina, where she posted a 3.02 goals-against average and a .881 save percentage across four games. Over her international career, Ahola has posted a record of 13-10 over 23 games, with a 2.28 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage, one shutout, two bronze medals (2024, 2025) and was named to the IIHF Women’s World Championship Tournament All-Star Team in 2024.
The netminder was drafted in the fifth round by the Ottawa Charge in the 2025 PWHL Draft and saw action in two games last season, posting a 1.93 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage. Ahola picked up her first career PWHL win in a 2-1 shootout win over the Boston Fleet in a Takeover Tour game in Halifax, earning second-star honours in the process after making 31 saves.
The Women's Euro Hockey Tour will play games in Finland, Switzerland, Sweden and Czechia ahead of November's World Championships.
Ottawa Charge defender Ronja Savolainen, a mainstay on the blue line for the team, was not named to the roster.
