One of the top remaining free agents following the PWHL Draft, Toronto Six defender Saroya Tinker will compete for a roster spot with PWHL Ottawa after accepting an invitation as a free agent to attend training camp with the team.
Tinker, 25, was one of the best defensive defenders in the PHF last season playing a crucial role in the Six winning the 2023 Isobel Cup title. Tinker, a PHF all-star last season, was in her third season of professional hockey and second with Toronto.
A former member of Canada's U-18 national team, Tinker is an alumni Yale University where she spent four seasons on the blueline.
Tinker is also one of the game's top voices and names in community involvement. Last year she was a finalist for the NHL's Willie O'Ree Community Hero Award.
Training camps will open across the PWHL the week of November 15.
