Saroya Tinker, Toronto born and raised, wants another championship, and to see a boom of women's pro sport in her city. Watch and listen to the interview.

Saroya Tinker never considered leaving Toronto. Born and raised in "the six," Tinker has her eyes set on another Isobel Cup championship.

"It makes it pretty hard after winning the Isobel Cup to even think about leaving," said Tinker. "For someone like me, born and raised her, no, I definitely didn't think about leaving. I want to be back, I want to win another championship with my team."

Tinker also sees the potential for professional women's sports to take off, with a bigger fan base following not only their Isobel Cup title, but also the momentum from a sold out WNBA game in Toronto recently.

"I was fortunate enough to be at the game and watch the women play," Tinker said. "It was a sold out crowd, there's 20,000 people in there... for women's sports in Toronto specifically, I think this is a huge market for us and we need to keep using our potential to push forward and market ourselves..."

Watch the remainder of the interview above to hear Tinker discuss the Isobel Cup run, reception from Toronto fans and sports teams, Black Girl Hockey Club, her former Yale teammate Claire Dalton joining the Six, and much more.

Tinker recently re-signed with the Toronto Six for the 2023-2024 PHF season.
