Toronto Sceptres and former World Champion with Team USA Savannah Harmon has announced her retirement.
"What a ride it has been. Little Savannah would be so proud of how far she's come and all the places this game has taken her. I truly can't put into words how grateful I am for everything hockey has brought into my life over the years," Harmon wrote on social media. "Through all the highs and lows, these have been some of the absolute best years and memories of my life."
"Hockey brought me my very best friends, the best giggles, and so many unforgettable memories that I'll carry with me forever. Thank you to all of my teammates, coaches, staff, fans, and everyone who was part of my journey. Thank you for the memories, the support, and for always making coming to the rink so special."
Harmon won two gold medals as a member of Team USA at the World Championships and won silver with USA at the 2022 Olympics.
She's a two-time NCAA champion, and was the fifth overall in the inaugural 2023 PWHL Draft playing for the Ottawa Charge before a trade sent her to Toronto.
"It's hard to say goodbye to something that has been such a huge part of my life for so long, but I'm hanging them up with the fullest heart and looking forward to my next chapter."
