The PWHL and Molson are partnering to change the name location for players from the top to the bottom of jerseys in a promotion called "See My Name."

When the puck drops Friday between PWHL Montreal and PWHL Toronto, player names will drop from the top of the jersey to the bottom as well.
Molson will become a "hidden sponsor" of the PWHL's, putting their logo on the top of jerseys where name plates are often found. In women's hockey, this placement is often obstructed by a players' hair. Molson's "See My Name" initiative, as their press release stated, aims to do just that with "Molson... covering its name so hers can be seen."
It's not a novel idea in women's hockey, as players in the PHF last season had their names on the bottom of their jerseys. In men's hockey and the PWHPA however, names were traditionally found above the jersey number, not below.
The jerseys will premier in the PWHL Friday when Montreal and Toronto face off on International Women's Day. Molson and the PWHL have agreed to a multi-year partnership, although the jersey change is still considered a "pilot project."
According to a press release, "Molson’s See My Name initiative seeks to foster and encourage greater inclusivity and equality in sports, sending a powerful message that women athletes deserve to be seen, recognized and celebrated."
