The New York Sirens have strengthened their crease for the next two seasons, signing veteran goaltender Elaine Chuli to a two-year contract through the 2027-28 campaign.

The deal was completed during the PWHL’s open signing period, which began Friday and allows all 12 clubs to continue building their rosters ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Chuli joins New York after spending the 2025-26 season with the Toronto Sceptres. The 32-year-old netminder from Waterford, Ont., opened the campaign with three straight victories, including a 29-save performance against her former club in Montréal at Bell Centre on Dec. 27.

Across three PWHL seasons split between Toronto and Montréal, Chuli has compiled a 13-10-2 record in 27 appearances, posting a 2.31 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage.

Before the launch of the PWHL, Chuli enjoyed success with the Toronto Six in the PHF, helping the club capture the 2022-23 Isobel Cup championship. She was also recognized as the PHF’s Goaltender of the Year in 2021-22. Her professional résumé also includes a season in the PWHPA and two seasons in the CWHL.

At the collegiate level, Chuli starred at UConn, setting program records for single-season and career saves while graduating as Hockey East’s all-time leader in career saves.

Chuli becomes the third goaltender under contract with the Sirens, joining Kaley Doyle and Callie Shanahan. New York now has 17 players signed for the 2026-27 season as the club continues reshaping its roster following last week’s PWHL Draft, where the Sirens selected six players, including four forwards and two defenders.

The addition provides New York with an experienced presence in net as the organization looks to rebound heading into its fourth PWHL season.
