The New York Sirens are holding onto two of their veterans after signing forward Denisa Křížová and defender Maja Nylén Persson to one-year extensions through 2027-28.
Both Křížová and Nylén Persson were originally signed through this season, but now have two years remaining in New York. Křížová was signed to a one-year contract by the Sirens during the expansion process, and now has an extra season on her deal.
The 31-year-old member of Czechia's national team was acquired by New York at the PWHL trade deadline last season from the Minnesota Frost in exchange for defender Jincy Roese. Roese will not play this season after announcing she's pregnant. Křížová won a pair of Walter Cup titles with the Frost in the league's first two seasons.
Nylén Persson, a member of Sweden's senior national team is entering her third season on New York's blueline. The team protected her in the 2025 PWHL expansion process, and again kept her safe in 2026 as a key component of their blueline. Last season she played in all 30 games for the Sirens finishing the season as their top scoring blueliner.
