When the PWHL hands out their annual awards honoring the best players in the league, at least two of those honors will feature Natalie Spooner's name.

The key words are "at least," as the power forward closed out her season with yet another dominant performance.

Spooner closed out her year with five goals and six points in her last three games to finish the year with 27 points, and a miraculous 20 goals. Her 20 goal total was nine more than Sarah Nurse and Grace Zumwinkle who tied for second overall in the league. The totals earned Spooner the PWHL's Points Leader and Top Goal Scorer Awards.

For Spooner, hitting 20 goals was something she was unsure if she would reach.

“I don’t know - I don’t know if I even thought about it, but I mean we’ll just go and see how it goes," Spooner said following the final game of the PWHL season. "You know, be grateful to be here, to be able to play, but I think once we kind of got meshing and gelling, and getting those opportunities - I got to play with some pretty amazing players out there that that set me up and it just kind of kept rolling. I look back and the season has kind of felt like its flown by. We went on that win streak and that flew by— little bit of a lull in there, but then now it’s just gone by so fast back at it.”

Spooner's point total put her four points clear of Marie-Philip Poulin, Sarah Nurse, and Alex Carpenter who all finished tied for 23 points.

Natalie Spooner my also hear her name multiple times for other league awards as she's a leading candidate to be named the PWHL's Forward of the Year and to win the inaugural Billie Jean King MVP Award.
