The star power for the 2024 PWHL Draft continues to rise as it is now confirmed that Sweden's Maja Nylen Persson will declare for the PWHL Draft and join the league next season.

Considered one of the top international players on the planet, Nylen Persson will be a sought after player at the draft. She joins a strong blueline group from Europe that also includes Ronja Savolainen, Daniela Pejsova, Sini Karjalainen, Anna Kjellbin, and Sara Cajanova, who are all planning to declare for the draft. European defenders will provide a significant boost to PWHL rosters through the draft, which will also include North American standouts like Cayla Barnes and Claire Thompson.

The 23-year-old has already competed for a decade in Europe's top league, the SDHL, last season captaining Brynas IF where she scored 38 points in 36 games from the blueline.

At the IIHF World Championships, Nylen Persson topped all Swedish defenders in ice time averaging 20 minutes per game, while recording three points in five games.

Nylen Persson is described as a smooth skating two-way defender who can jumpstart the offense from her own zone. She's an intelligent, right shot blueliner who can play in all situations, and will be an immediate addition to the top four of a PWHL defensive corps next season.
