
Maude Poulin-Labelle is an player PWHL Toronto sees as full of potential, and they hope to help her reach new levels of success after claiming her on waivers.
When Maude Poulin-Labelle was placed on waivers by PWHL Montreal, Toronto wasted no time snapping her up. Toronto was on the market for a defensive upgrade, and they saw the potential in Poulin-Labelle.
She brings a wide range of skill set to the game, which is something that we're obviously excited about," said Toronto general manager Gina Kingsbury. "[I]n Maude's situation we're looking at growth...here's just an athlete that has a lot of potential and a lot of growth in her."
Poulin-Labelle, 23, is a Sherbrooke, Quebec product who spent four seasons at the University of Vermont before transferring to Northeastern for her final NCAA campaign. At Northeastern she played alongside fellow recent PHF signees Alina Müller and Chloe Aurard.
Poulin-Labelle holds the all-time Vermont record for points by a defender, and also the single season points and goals record by a blueliner, which she set in 2021-2022 when she scored 13 goals and 35 points. That season Poulin-Labelle was named a Second Team All-American.
