Elaine Chuli will return to the crease with the Toronto Six this season and next after re-signing a two-year contract.

“Being here since the team started back in 2020, I feel really tied to the organization and the city, and I’m super excited to keep building what we’ve already started here the last three seasons,” Chuli said in a team press release. “I’m looking forward to bringing another championship back to Toronto."

“The only thing I’m worried about is wins and winning a championship,” she said. “That remains my goal, and everything I do everyday is in pursuit of that goal.”

Chuli was between the pipes for the Six this season when they defeated Minnesota to win the organization's first ever Isobel Cup.

Last season with the six, Chuli appeared in 19 games recording a 12-5-0 record with a 2.61 GAA and .917 save percentage including two shutouts.

Chuli, 29, is an original member of the Toronto Six and was the PHF's 2022 Goaltender of the Year.

“Elaine Chuli has been the quarterback of this team for many years, and I don’t think there was any doubt that we would have, in my opinion, the greatest goaltender in the league back with us this year,” said Toronto general manager Angela James. “We are happy to have Chuli back for the next two seasons.”

Chuli is an alumni of the NCAA's University of Connecticut, and also won a gold medal as a member of Canada's U-18 national team. Following her NCAA career Chuli spent a season in the CWHL followed by a year participating with the PWHPA before joining the Toronto Six for their inaugural season in 2020.
