Brooke Hobson discusses her time in Sweden, Northeastern, joining the PHF's Boston Pride and much more.

Brooke Hobson served as captain for the NCAA's Northeastern Huskies. One of the top defenders in NCAA hockey, Hobson opted for Europe following her graduation, a decision which she believes has paid off.

Hobson, 24, signed with the PHF's Boston Pride this offseason after playing her first professional season in the SDHL with MoDo.

"I had an amazing eight months over there," said Hobson of her time in Sweden. "For me, taking away from that experience there's always the travel and experiencing a new culture, so the growth off the ice is huge for anybody to go experience that."

That off-ice growth also carried over to on-ice growth for Hobson who recorded 20 points in 32 games for MoDo from the blueline.

"Just going over to a different country, players of different countries, they train different ways, they play different ways. It really developed the skills that maybe I didn't get so much practice on in North America and kind of just opened my eyes to different ways of training."

Now in Boston, Hobson will reunite with her former Northeastern teammates Alina Muller and Chloe Aurard on what's shaping up to be one of the PHF's youngest and most talented teams.
