Wherever She Players, Sophia Kunin Will Be Key To Minnesota's Success

Sophia Kunin can play any forward position...and defence, bringing versatility that will be key Minnesota's success this season.

Sophia Kunin will be key to Minnesota's roster this season wherever she plays, bringing versatility to Minnesota's lineup.

Sophia Kunin might start the inaugural PWHL season on Minnesota's right wing. She might also start playing center. There's also a chance Kunin starts on Minnesota's blueline.

After captaining Wisconsin to an NCAA national title in 2019, Kunin spent the last four seasons playing with the PWHPA, last season notching nine points in 20 games with the Secret Cup champs, Team Harvey's.

Following the opening week of the PWHL Preseason Camp, Kunin earned praise as one of PWHL Minnesota's top performers in the eyes of Minnesota general manager.

Darwitz isn't sure where Kunin will play, but praised her versatility and acknowledged the value of players capable of contributing in as many ways as Kunin.
