The Minnesota Whitecaps have re-signed leading scorer Natalie Snodgrass to a two-year contract. Financial details were not disclosed.

Snodgrass recorded 20 points in 22 games last season for the Whitecaps, her first professional campaign. Prior to joining the Whitecaps, Snodgrass captained the University of Connecticut and also won a pair of gold medals with Team USA at the U-18 World Championships.

According to Whitecaps general manager Chi-Yin Tse, he believes Snodgrass has established herself as a scoring threat in the PHF. She was a rookie of the year finalist.

“She established herself as a goal scorer and made teams recognize her ability to put the puck in the back of the net,” Tse said. “I think there is more in there and I wanted to add in players that would be able to help her notch a few more goals and assists the next couple of years.”

Snodgrass is one of many Minnesota products to stay in the state with the Whitecaps.

“It feels incredible and I still can’t believe I get to call this my job,” Snodgrass said. “Especially since I get to play in front of my family, friends, and the greatest fans in the PHF for two more years.”

Snodgrass' contract brings the Minnesota Whitecaps' roster count to 22.
