Amanda Kessel is one of the best offensive players on the planet, and she'll bring her veteran savvy, years of experience, and skilled game to the PWHL next season where she's likely to make an immediate and significant impact.

Amanda Kessel is a player who will upset the projected PWHL Draft rankings that primarily includes NCAA graduates and European players. The long time American star is a former Olympic and World Championship All-Star, and when she arrives in the PWHL next season, Kessel will make an immediate impact.

Kessel took a year away from the game serving as a special assistant to the general manager with the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins, but the 32-year-old is poised to return to the ice after declaring for the 2024 PWHL Draft.

In 2022-2023 Kessel scored five points in six games with Team Adidas in the PWHPA, and added five goals and nine points in seven games at the World Championships helping USA win gold.

She has four World Championship gold medals and an Olympic gold medal as a member of Team USA, and has represented USA at a total of seven World Championships and three Olympic Games.

One of the world's elite goal scorers, Kessel is an offensive talent who will immediately have the ability to step onto a team's top line, and also play valuable powerplay minutes.

While any team can select Kessel, she's likely hoping to be picked by one of the three American PWHL teams. Kessel played her NCAA hockey at the University of Minnesota. Boston head coach Courtney Kessel is her sister-in-law as well, making those two destinations likely candidates, but perhaps no team in the league can benefit from the addition of Kessel like PWHL New York, who needs offensive help up front, and would also benefit from Kessel's veteran presence and leadership in their locker room.
