Brittany Howard highlights from the 2022-2023 PHF season with the Toronto Six. Brittany Howard will be moving from the Isobel Cup champion Toronto Six to the Boston Pride this season. It's a transaction that will keep defenders up at night this season envisioning the chemistry Howard and reigning MVP Loren Gabel displayed in both the PWHPA and last season at the PHF All-Star game. On the ice, Howard thrives when she's utilizing her quickness, whether it's in creating gaps between her and defenders with breakaway speed, or rapidly changing puck positioning as she approaches the net. In many of Howard's highlight goals, you see her cup and pull the puck from outside her body on the forehand side reading the lanes ahead of her to either beat a block and shoot, or to continue the puck across her body to the backhand side. Howard never rushes a play often outwaiting defenders to open lanes, and utlizes pace changes both in her footwork, showcasing her strong edges, or in her puckhandling. The final component of Howard's attack is a quick and accurate release likely challenged only by her new teammate, Loren Gabel, from last season's PHF stars.
