Kaleigh Fratkin discusses Boston's blueline, the strong netminding tandem the team has built, her process getting to PWHL Boston, and much more.
Kaleigh Fratkin will lineup on the PWHL Boston blueline this year. She's been playing in Boston since 2010 with Boston University.
Since then, Fratkin has played for the CWHL's Boston Blades, and spent six seasons with the NWHL / PHF's Boston Pride. The hard nosed blueliner was the two-time Defender of the Year and several times an all-star. Now, it's a new adventure that Fratkin discussed with THN's Ian Kennedy.
This will be Fratkin's second new professional league during her career, as she was part of the launch of the NWHL.
"It's kind of like a full circle type moment," said Fratkin.
After not being drafted, Fratkin received a call the next morning at 7:00 a.m. from Boston general manager Danielle Marmer. It wasn't an invite, it was a contract offer. Now, Fratkin is excited to get back on the ice.
"I can't wait for puck drop, I can't wait to just get out and play," she said.
In the interview above, Fratkin also discusses her familiarity with Boston's blueline, the stellar goaltending tandem the team has, playing against former teammates like Jillian Dempsey, and her journey to the PWHL.
