Katey Stone's Lawyer Addresses Sex Discrimination Lawsuit Against Harvard

Katey Stone's lawyer Andrew T. Miltenberg provides opening comments addressing allegations of sex discrimination, and a lawsuit filed in federal court this morning.

Katey Stone's lawyer Andrew T. Miltenberg addresses media regarding a lawsuit filed against Harvard University for sex discrimination.

Katey Stone and her legal team have filed a lawsuit in federal court alleging sex discrimination by Harvard including unequal pay and unequal treatment.

Watch the opening statements from Andrew T. Miltenberg, the lead attorney from Nesenoff & Miltenberg, LLP, the legal team defending Stone.

Stone experience many allegations of racism, and creation of a toxic environment including hazing, body shaming, and disregard for mental health.

Stone however, has allegations of her own claiming sex discrimination against Harvard University.

"By way of example, and not limitation, at one point Defendant Harvard alleged, erroneously, that the men’s ice hockey head coach deserved more compensation than Coach Stone 'because he [meaning the male head coach of the men’s ice hockey team] has to make quicker in-game decisions,'" the lawsuit against Harvard reads.

The lawsuit also addresses the fact that Katey Stone, following allegations against her conduct, that Harvard treated this situation differently because she was a woman. Stone was told she would not be returning as head coach for the 2023-2024 season, calling her retirement "forced."

"Where… Harvard permits, if not openly encourages, male coaches to use their discretion in how best to coach and motivate the players on their respective teams, Coach Stone was harshly punished and excoriated for engaging in the same coaching strategies and behaviors," the lawsuit read.

    More to come.
