The Abbotsford Canucks defeated the Charlotte Checkers 6-1 in Game 3 of the Calder Cup Finals to take a 2-1 series lead.

Oliver Okuliar scored his second of the finals in the first period for Charlotte as they escaped the first period with a 1-0 lead.

Sammy Blais continued his strong play with his second goal and fifth point of the finals on a powerplay in the second period. The game entered the third period tied 1-1.

The third period was all Abbotsford as they scored five unanswered goals, one on the powerplay and one on an empty net.

Linus Karlsson, Arshdeep Bains, Phil Di Giuseppe, Bains again, and Tristan Nielsen all picked up goals in the third.

Bains and Karlsson finished the game with four points each, Karlsson now leads the playoffs with 22 points in 21 games.

Abbotsford did a much better job managing Charlotte's forecheck and scoring off the rush.

Charlotte could not solve Silovs who made 28 saves on 29 shots.

Lots of rough stuff in the thirdp eriod as things got out of hand with Jujhar Khaira, Nate Smith, Riley Bezeau, and MacKenzie Entwistle all earning 10 minute misconducts.

Game 4 gets underway at 7pm PT/10pm EST on Thursday June 19.
