    The 2025 IIHF World Hockey Championship has come to an end with USA defeating Switzerland in overtime to capture their first gold medal at the tournament since 1933. 

    The American Hockey League was well represented at the tournament with 17 players who spent a significant portion of the season in the AHL playing in at least one game at the World Championship.
