The agreement will begin in 2024-25

The Carolina Hurricane announced on Thursday that they have signed a three-year affiliation agreement with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.

The agreement will begin with the 2024-25 season and will see the Hurricanes oversee all hockey operation.

Chicago was previously Carolina's AHL affiliate from 2020-23. The Wolves were the lone independent franchise in the AHL this season when they did not reach an agreement with Carolina before the 2023-24 season.

The Wolves won the 2022 Calder Cup and lost in the 2019 finals while partners with Carolina.

Chicago have previously been affiliates with the Atlanta Thrashers, Vancouver Canucks, St. Louis Blues, and Vegas Golden Knights.

All 32 NHL teams now have an AHL affiliate heading into next season.

Pyotr Kochetkov, Stefan Noesen, Jack Drury and Jalen Chatfield are among current Hurricanes who have previously played for the Wolves.

Antti Raanta, Griffin Mendel, Domenick Fensore, Ronan Seeley and Maxime Comtois are all signed by Carolina and played games for Chicago this season.
