The AHL's Player Safety Committee announced they have suspended Charlotte Checkers forward Riley Bezeau for one game for an illegal check to the head.

The incident occurred in Charlotte's series clinching game four against the Laval Rocket.

Bezeau hit Rocket defenseman Gustav Lindstrom in the second period and received a 15 minute match penalty for illegal check to the head. Lindstrom did not return to the game.

The 23-year-old will miss game on of the Calder Cup Finals against Abbotsford or Texas. He has three goals in four playoff games.

Keep an eye on the Florida Panthers team site for more updates on the Checkers.
