Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned forward Luca Pinelli from the OHL's Ottawa 67s to their AHL affiliate Cleveland Monsters.
A fourth round pick of the Blue Jackets in 2023, Pinelli recorded 37 goals and 71 points in 52 games for the 67s this season.
The 19-year-old had one goal and one assist in five games for Canada's World Junior Championship team this year. He also served as captain of Ottawa for the last two seasons.
Always a talented all-around player, Pinelli improved offensively every junior season and finished his OHL career with 128 goals and 252 points in 246 games.
Pinelli should provide a nice boost to the Monsters as they approach the Calder Cup Playoffs, his style of play should translate well to the pro game.
