The Columbus Blue Jackets announced they have recalled forward Mikael Pyyhtia from their AHL affiliate Cleveland Monsters on a emergency basis.
Pyyhtia has appeared in 46 games for the Blue Jackets this season, recording four goals and three assists while averaging 12:06 of ice time.
The 23-year-old has one goal and six points in 10 games with Cleveland.
The Blue Jackets are ravaged by injuries, and this recall is likely not a good sign for Cole Sillinger, who left Columbus' game against the Detroit Red Wings on Feb. 27 with an upper-body injury.
A fourth round pick of the Blue Jackets in 2020, Pyyhtia has 37 points in 77 career AHL games and 10 points in 65 career NHL games.
The Blue Jackets take on the Detroit Red Wings in an outdoor game at Ohio Stadium tomorrow Mar. 1.
