The Dallas Stars announced they have recalled three players from their AHL affiliate Texas Stars ahead of their Game 5 matchup against the Colorado Avalanche.
Lian Bichsel, Alex Petrovic and reigning AHL MVP Mavrik Bourque were recalled.
Bourque led the AHL in scoring this season with 77 points in 71 games, he currently leads the Calder Cup playoffs in scoring with 11 points in seven games.
Bichsel began the season with Texas before completing the season with Rögle BK of the SHL.
Petrovic is the most experienced of the thee players, having played 264 career NHL games. He posted 22 points in 70 games for Texas this season.
Despite Roope Hintz missing Game 5 due to injury it appears Radek Faksa will be taking his spot in the lineup and Bourque will watch from the press box.
Bichsel and Petrovic provide defensive depth and can play if needed while Chris Tanev is dealing with an injury.
The Texas Stars were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs by the Milwaukee Admirals.
