Former San Jose Barracuda defenseman Joey Keane has signed a two-year contract with the KHL's Spartak Moska, per Max Miller of Sharks Hockey Digest.
Keane recorded two goals and 11 points in 38 games with the Barracuda in 2024-25.
The 26-year-old returns to Spartak where he spent 2022-24, he notched 10 goals and 35 points in 102 games over his two prior seasons with the club.
A third round selection of the New York Rangers in 2018, Keane has 94 points in 182 career AHL games with the Barracuda, Hartford Wolf Pack, Charlotte Checkers, and Chicago Wolves. He won the Calder Cup with the Wolves in 2022 and led all defensemen with 12 points in 18 playoff games.
He went pointless in two career NHL games with the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Chicago, Ill., native now counts as a veteran against AHL rules as he has played more than 260 career professional games which likely plays into his decision to return to the KHL.
