Defending Kelly Cup Champs become primary affiliate of Springfield Thunderbirds

The St. Louis Blues announced they have signed an affiliation agreement with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL, they become the primary affiliate for the AHL's Springfield Thunderbirds and secondary affiliate for the Blues.

The agreement is a multi-year deal that begins immediately for the 2024-25 season.

The Everblades have established themselves as an elite ECHL franchise, they have won three straight Kelly Cup Championships, the first team to ever do so. The franchise have won four total since joining the league in 1998. 40 Everblades alumni have gone on to play in the NHL.

The Thunderbirds are a relatively new AHL franchise after being established in 2016, they hope this new agreement helps provide them with the depth to make it back to the Calder Cup Playoffs after missing last season.

Florida were affiliates of the Charlotte Checkers and Florida Panthers for the last two seasons.
