Mackie Samoskevich and Justin Sourdif among players added to Panthers roster

The Florida Panthers have recalled seven players from their AHL affiliate Charlotte Checkers heading into their second-round matchup against the Boston Bruins.

Per the AHL transactions page forwards Justin Sourdif, Mackie Samoskevich, Rasmus Asplund and Will Lockwood, defensemen Matt Kiersted and Michael Benning, and goaltender Magnus Hellberg were recalled.

The Checkers lost two games to one in their first-round series against the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Lockwood, Sourdif, and Samoskevich combined to play 36 games for the Panthers this season, scoring one point.

Samoskevich and Asplund were Charlotte's two leading scorers this season, while Hellberg had a 5-2 record.

These players have been added to the Florida roster and will likely serve as 'black aces' who practice with the Panthers throughout the playoffs.
