    Former Abbotsford Canucks forward John Stevens has signed a one-year contract with Liiga's Kiekko-Espoo, the team announced Thursday

    Stevens recorded four goals and 15 points in 45 games while serving as an assistant captain for the Calder Cup winning Canucks last season, though he did not appear in a playoff game. 

    The 31-year-old sits sixth all-time in Abbotsford franchise scoring and fourth all-time in games played with 112 points in 224 games. 

    The Springfield, Mass., native has 65 goals and 163 points in 389 career AHL games with the Canucks, Utica Comets, and Bridgeport Sound Tigers. 

    Son of AHL Hall of Famer and Vegas Golden Knights assistant coach John Stevens, Stevens turned pro in 2017 after four seasons at Northeastern University where he notched 106 points in 138 games.  

    Stevens is known as a great teammate and leader, Linus Karlsson made sure to give him a shoutout following the team's Calder Cup win.
