2008 AHL MVP joins Canucks as skills and skating coach
The Vancouver Canucks announced that former AHL MVP and Calder Cup Champion Jason Krog will be joining the organization as a skills and skating coach.
The Fernie, BC, native will work with both the Vancouver and Abbotsford Canucks.
Krog has an extensive trophy case, at the University of New Hampshire he won the Hobey Baker Award and was a First All-American Team. In the AHL he lead the league in points once, and won both regular season and playoff MVP in 2008. He has won a Calder Cup and Ligue Manus (French League) championship.
Krog signed a contract with the New York Islanders after his time in the NCAA, he had 59 points in 202 NHL games for five different franchises.
The now 48-year-old was dominant during his time in the AHL, finishing with 598 points in 535 games, including 112 during his MVP and Calder Cup winning season in 2008.
