The contract will run through the 2026-27 season.
The 22-year-old will join Abbotsford for the remainder of the 2025-26 season on a professional try-out agreement
Schimek is coming off a standout senior year at Arizona State in the 2025-26 NCAA season where he served as co-captain and recorded a career-high 43 points (13G, 30A) in 35 games for the Sun Devils.
He earned All-NCHC Second-Team honours for his performance.
