The Guelph Storm announced that they have signed former Toronto Marlies assistant coach Rob Davison as their new Associate Coach for the upcoming OHL season.
The 44-year-old began his coaching career as an assistant with EC Salzburg of the EBEL for two seasons, a team he played a year and a half with towards the end of his career.
After one year as an assistant with Dinamo Minsk Davison returned to North America to be an assistant with the Toronto Marlies, a role he held from 2017-18 through the 2020-21 season.
Davison registered 18 points over a seven year NHL career where he played 219 total games for the San Jose Sharks, New York Islanders, Vancouver Canucks, and New Jersey Devils. He also recorded 56 points in 382 career AHL games. He was originally drafted in the fourth round of the 1998 draft.
The St. Catharines, ON, native won the Calder Cup with Toronto in 2017-18, and now will be a key voice behind the bench of a Guelph team who are looking to re-assert themselves as a top team in the OHL.
