The Laval Rocket announced they have signed Yale University captain and forward Will Dineen to a professional tryout contract.
Dineen has six goals and 18 points in 30 games for the Bulldogs this season, doubling his previous career-high in points.
The 24-year-old recorded 19 goals and 45 points over his 99 game NCAA career. He was named to the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team last season and won the Curt Hammer award as the USHL's Gentleman of the Year in 2021 with the Sioux Falls Stampede.
The Hinsdale, Ill., native is the son of former NHLer Kevin Dineen who recorded 760 points over a 1188 game career. Kevin was also let go from his role coaching the AHL's Utica Comets in November.
Dineen will be a nice depth addition for a Laval team looking to hold on to first place in the North Division.
The AHL trade and roster deadline is tomorrow Mar. 14 at 3pm EST.
