Day will head overseas after winning back-to-back Calder Cups with Hershey
Logan Day has signed a contract with Traktor Chelyabinsk of the KHL after being granted a mutual release from the Hershey Bears.
The 30-year-old has yet to play this season after off season surgery.
Day was a member of the Bears for their back-to-back Calder Cup Championships in 2023 and 2024.
He recorded 25 points in 54 regular season games and seven points in 15 playoff games last season.
The Seminole, Fla., native has 122 points in 307 career AHL games with the Bakersfield Condors, Lehigh Valley Phantoms, and Hershey Bears.
Day originally signed a contract with the Condors in 2018 after time with Providence College and Endicott College.
He will join former Bears goaltender Zach Fucale with Traktor.
After the move Hershey still has nine defensemen on the roster who have appeared in at least three games this season.
