The Manitoba Moose announced they have hired Morgan Klimchuk as an assistant coach.
A first round pick in 2013, Klimchuk never quite lived up to his potential but has become a highly sought after up and coming coach since retiring from his playing career at the end of the 2020 season.
The 29-year-old entered the coaching ranks in 2021 as an assistant coach with Edge School Prep in Calgary. He has been an assistant with the Victoria Royals of the WHL for the last two seasons.
In his playing career the Saskatchewan native had 267 points in 261 career WHL games and 133 points in 274 AHL games, he only played in one NHL game. He also has a U18 Gold medal with Canada.
Still not even 30 years old, Klimchuk has established a solid coaching resume and joins an experienced coaching staff lead by head coach Mark Morrison.
