The Boston Bruins announced they have returned goaltender Michael DiPietro to the Providence Bruins.
DiPietro served as the emergency backup goalie for Game 6 of the Boston vs. Toronto series.
Providence are currently tied 1-1 in their second round series against the Hartford Wolf Pack.
Barring an injury or a sudden drop in play DiPietro will likely backup Brandon Bussi for the majority of the Calder Cup Playoffs.
The 24-year-old has a record of 18-9-2 with a .918 save percentage and 2.51 goals against average with Providence this season.
Originally a third-round pick of Vancouver in 2017, the Canucks traded DiPietro to Boston in 2022 in exchange for Jack Studnicka.
DiPietro signed a one-year contract extension with Boston through the 2024-25 season.
