Fedor Svechkov scored 1:38 into overtime to give the Milwaukee Admirals a 4-3 game five victory and eliminate the Rockford IceHogs in the Central Division Semifinals.
The Admirals were able to rally back after dropping the first two games, they move on the face the Texas Stars in the Central Division Finals.
Per the AHL, Milwaukee are the fourth team in history to win a best-of-five AHL series after losing the first two games.
The Admirals lost in the 2024 and 2023 Western Conference Finals to the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
Kieffer Bellows led the Admirals with three goals and three assists in five games, Svechkov, Marc Del Gaizo and Ozzy Weisblatt all had five points in five games.
Milwaukee goaltender Matt Murray had a rough game two where he allowed five goals on 18 shots but rebounded and played well in the final three games of the series.
The 27-year-old finishes the series with a 3-2 record, 2.99 GAA, and .884 SP.
Rockford defeated in-state rival Chicago Wolves in two games in the first round before falling to Milwaukee.
Veterans Joey Anderson and Zach Sanford both posted eight points in seven playoff games to lead the team.
Young defensemen Kevin Korchinski, Nolan Allan, and Ethan Del Mastro all looked solid in the playoffs and will make the case to make the Blackhawks next season.
Korchinski will not be happy with his giveaway that resulted in Milwaukee's second goal in game five but he regularly led Rockford in ice time and looked good at both ends of the ice.
Game one of the best-of-five Central Division Finals gets underway Thursday May 15 in Texas.
