Per the AHL transactions page the Milwaukee Admirals have signed former University of Connecticut goaltender Ethan Haider to an Amateur try-out contract.
Haider signed an ATO on April 4th and agreed to an AHL deal with the Admirals for the 2024-25 season. He was released from his ATO on May 13th before signing another yesterday.
Originally a fifth round draft pick of the Nashville Predators in 2019, Haider played three years at Clarkson University before transferring to the University of Connecticut, where he had a 7-11-2 record, 2.91 goals against average and .906 save percentage this season.
The 22-year-old served as a backup on his first ATO but it yet to receive any playing time.
This news comes just after Yaroslav Askarov was a late injury scratch for the Admirals before their Game 5 matchup against the Grand Rapids Griffins. Gustavs Davis Grigals served as backup.
While we await updates on Askarov's status, Troy Grosenick - who registered a shutout in Game 5 - will assume the starters net going forward, with Haider now an option to serve as a backup.
The Western Conference Final between Milwaukee and the Coachella Valley Firebirds begins Wednesday.
