The Minnesota Wild announced they have recalled newly acquired defenseman David Jiricek and sent forward Travis Boyd to their AHL affiliate Iowa Wild.
Jiricek was acquired yesterday in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Daemon Hunt and draft picks.
The 21-year-old has recorded two goals and three points in four games with the Cleveland Monsters and one assist in six games with the Blue Jackets while averaging 11:12 of ice time per game this season.
The Klatovy, CZE., native could make his Minnesota debut as early as Dec. 3 against the Vancouver Canucks while the Wild continue to deal with an injury to Jonas Brodin.
Boyd was recalled on Nov. 23 and played in two games for the Wild, going pointless.
The 31-year-old is two goals and 11 points in 13 games with AHL Iowa this season, putting him second on the team in scoring.
