The New Jersey Devils have recalled defenseman Simon Nemec from their AHL affiliate Utica Comets.
Nemec was an AHL All-Star and has five goals and 22 points in 32 games with Utica this season.
The second overall pick in the 2022 draft, Nemec expressed some frustration with the fact he was still in the AHL earlier this year.
The 20-year-old has one assist in nine games with the Devils while averaging 16:07 of ice time per game. He had 19 points in 60 games as a rookie last season.
A great puck mover, Nemec has been a bright spot on a Utica team that has had trouble keeping the puck out of the net.
He was paired with Luke Hughes at Devils practice today, signalling he will likely play against the Vegas Golden Knights tonight while Jonas Siegenthaler is out with injury.
