25-year-old will take on bigger role for Reign next season

The Ontario Reign announced they have re-signed defenseman Luke Rowe to a one-year AHL contract for the 2024-25 season.

Rowe signed with the Reign after he wrapped up his fourth year with Air Force Academy of the NCAA, with whom he served as captain his final three seasons.

The 25-year-old played five games with the Reign and registered a goal and an assist before suffering a season ending injury.

Rowe had 74 points in 125 career NCAA games with Air Force, including 29 in 35 games this season, earning spots on the second and third AHA All-Conference Teams his final two seasons. He was also a Hobey Baker nominee this season.

The Succasunna, New Jersey, native was twice named Air Force Defensive Player of the Year and twice took home the Vic Heyliger Award for leadership and work ethic.

Rowe will compete for minutes on a young Reign blueline next season.
