The Ottawa Senators Announced they have signed forward and AHL's leading goal scorer Adam Gaudette to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2024-25 season.
The 27-year-old exploded offensively last season with the Springfield Thunderbirds, finishing third in AHL scoring with 71 points in 67 games and led the league in goals with 44. He got into two games with the St. Louis Blues, going pointless. His 44 goals set a Thunderbirds franchise record for goals in a season.
Gaudette was originally selected in the fifth round of the 2015 draft by the Vancouver Canucks.
The Braintree, MA, native has 77 goals and 134 points in 148 career AHL games, as well as 70 points in 220 career NHL games with four different teams.
The 2018 Hobey Baker Award winner, Gaudette led the NCAA in points that year, wrapping up his college career with 142 points in 116 total games at Northeastern University. He was a one-time First Team All-American and one-time Hockey East Champion.
A big body who isn't afraid to play physical and has seemingly come into his own offensively at the professional level, Gaudette will play a key role on the Belleville Senators and will challenge for bottom-six minutes with Ottawa.
