The Ottawa Senators announced they have signed forward Jan Jenik to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2024-25 season. The contract is worth $750,000 at the NHL level and $190,000 at the AHL level.
Originally selected in the third round of the 2018 draft by the Arizona Coyotes, the Senators acquired Jenik in a trade with Utah in exchange for Egor Sokolov on July 3rd.
Jenik played 55 games for the Tucson Roadrunners last season, recording 36 points. He also picked up an assist in five games with Arizona.
The 23-year-old has 46 goals and 120 points in 165 career AHL games and four goals and six points in 22 NHL games with the Coyotes.
The Nymburg, CZE, native is poised to fill an offensive role on the revamped Belleville Senators. Not afraid to mix it up physically and able to play both center and the wing, Jenik could play bottom-six minutes for Ottawa.
Jenik and Sokolov have nearly identical point per game production in the AHL, and each will get a fresh start with a new organization.
