

The New York Rangers announced they have named Paul Mara as an assistant coach with the Hartford Wolf Pack on head coach Grant Potulny's staff.
After joining the Rangers organization as a player development assistant in 2023, Mara was named an interim assistant in December of 2023 when Hartford reshuffled their coaching staff after Kris Knoblauch was hired away by the Edmonton Oilers.
Prior to joining the Rangers Mara was the Head Coach of the NWHL and PHF's Boston Pride for five seasons, capturing the Isobel Cup in 2021 and 2022.
The Ridgewood, NJ, native was on the bench as an assistant for team USA's Women's National Team at the 2018 Olympics, where they won the gold medal.
The 44-year-old had a lengthy NHL playing career, after being selected seventh overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 1997, Mara played parts of 12 seasons and 734 games with six franchises, recording 253 points.
Mara played 36 AHL games with the Houston Aeros in his final professional season and recorded 11 points. He won a bronze medal with team USA at the 2004 IIHF World Championship.
